BREAKFAST-TO-BED WITH CIABATTA BREAD

INGREDIENTS

To make the ciabatta bread

-1 packet of active dry yeast (2 teaspoons, 10g)
-1 cup and 2 tablespoons divided (260ml) of lukewarm water
-1/2 teaspoon of honey
-2 cups (260g) of all-purpose flour
-1 teaspoon of salt

TIP*: you can serve it with any fruit of your choice, cream cheese and more!

INSTRUCTIONS

1) In a small bowl mix ¼ cup of lukewarm water with ½ teaspoon of honey and the packet of active dry yeast, let them rest for 5 to 10 minutes until the yeast starts to bloom.
2) In a large bowl put the flour and make a well in the center, then add the yeast mixture and the rest of the water and mix them with a wooden spoon. When is almost completely mixed add the salt and combine. You will get a sticky and loose dough.
3) Let it proof in a large bowl for 1 and a half hours.
4) In the meantime preheat the oven at 425°F (225°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper and sprinkle 2 teaspoons of flour.
5) Carefully transfer the dough from your bowl  to your baking sheet, sprinkle 2 teaspoons of flour on top of the dough and with a spatula give it a rectangular loaf shape.
6) Bake it for 20 to 25 minutes at 425°F (225°C). As an optional tip you can put some cold water in a pan on the bottom of your oven, so it will create steam and as a result you’ll get a softer ciabatta bread, but it is completely optional! Then let it cool for at least 20 minutes before consuming.
7) Cut it into pieces and serve it with fruits, cream cheese, jam or anything you want!
